East Water accelerates water pumping from Thap Ma Canal to replenish the Thap Ma Raw Water Reservoir, helping alleviate flooding in Rayong City while securing water supplies for domestic consumption and industrial use.

East Water, or Eastern Water Resources Development and Management Public Company Limited, is accelerating water pumping operations from Thap Ma Canal into the Thap Ma Raw Water Reservoir. The water level in Thap Ma Canal is currently at 10 meters above mean sea level (MSL). In response, the company has stepped up pumping operations at a rate of 120 cubic meters per minute to help alleviate flooding in Rayong City while securing additional water reserves for domestic consumption and industrial use.

The Thap Ma Raw Water Reservoir has a storage capacity of 12 million cubic meters and is currently at 94% of its capacity, with approximately 700,000 cubic meters of remaining storage capacity before reaching its maximum storage level of 27 meters above mean sea level.

The Thap Ma Raw Water Reservoir is a joint development project between the Rayong Provincial Administrative Organization and East Water. The project was developed to help alleviate flooding in Rayong City while providing a reserve water source for industrial, domestic, and municipal water supply needs.

The reservoir has been in operation since 2022 and is also open to the public for exercise and recreation during the morning hours from 5:00–8:00 a.m. and in the evening from 5:30–8:00 p.m., subject to safety and environmental measures in accordance with industrial standards.
