East Water Group, through Excomtara Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Universal Utilities Public Company Limited (UU), continues to support environmental conservation initiatives under the “River and Canal Conservation and Development Day Project for Fiscal Year 2026.” The project was organized by the Regional Water Resources Office 7 in collaboration with Lak Mueang Subdistrict Municipality and local residents at Khlong Khae–Nong Yang, Village No. 3, Phong Sawai Subdistrict, Mueang Ratchaburi District, Ratchaburi Province. The initiative aims to clean up and restore the waterway while promoting greater public awareness of sustainable natural resource conservation.
The event was presided over by Mr. Teerapong Thanyarak, Deputy District Chief of Mueang Ratchaburi, with Mr. Sinat Rungcharoon, Mayor of Lak Mueang Subdistrict Municipality, and Mr. Manachat Buathong, Director of the Administration Division, Regional Water Resources Office 7. The event was also attended by executives, heads of government agencies, village and community leaders, private-sector representatives, local residents, and students, who actively participated in the activities.
Key activities focused on restoring the health and abundance of the local ecosystem. These included engaging young people in waterway conservation through the “Beautiful Canal, Clear Water in My Imagination” drawing contest; releasing 10,000 silver barb fish into Khlong Khae–Nong Yang; planting Yang Na trees to increase green space; and planting vetiver grass along the canal banks to help prevent soil erosion. Representatives from participating organizations also joined forces to clean up the Khlong Khae–Nong Yang waterway.
