Universal Utilities Public Company Limited (UU), an East Water Group company, has joined Noen Phra Municipality and the Ban San Chao Community Forest Management Committee to sign an MOU for the “Network Partnership for Expanding Green Spaces and Protecting the Noen Phra Watershed Forest” project, under the “UU Creates Forests, Protects Watersheds” initiative. The collaboration brings together the public sector, private sector, and local communities to restore ecosystems and strengthen watershed forests.

The MOU signing was held at the Noen Phra Municipal Office in Rayong Province. Signatories included Mr. Supachai Jitdon, Mayor of Noen Phra Municipality; Mr. Chanin Noprumpha, Managing Director of Universal Utilities Public Company Limited; and Mr. Somboon Suthep Poolnin, Vice Chairman of the Ban San Chao Community Forest Management Committee, acting for the Committee Chairman.

The project aims to plant trees and restore the Ban San Chao Community Forest, establish wildfire prevention measures, and raise environmental awareness. It also seeks to develop the area as a green space and “new lung” for the community, with potential for eco-tourism.

Mr. Chanin Noprampha, Managing Director of UU, said that as a water supply service provider, UU recognizes the inseparable relationship between “water” and “forests.” The project goes beyond tree planting, marking a long-term partnership to protect and restore the Ban San Chao Community Forest.

“Water and forests are inseparably interconnected resources. Protecting watersheds is an integral part of ensuring long-term water security. This collaboration reflects UU and the East Water Group’s commitment to working with communities to protect the environment and create lasting local benefits,” said Mr. Chanin.

Mr. Supachai Jitdon, Mayor of Noen Phra Municipality, said the municipality prioritizes expanding green spaces and restoring natural resources, particularly the Ban San Chao Community Forest. The collaboration brings together the public sector, private sector, and community to plant trees, restore ecosystems, and prevent wildfires.

“Forest conservation can achieve sustainable results when communities actively participate and take ownership of their local environment. We hope this collaboration will build a strong community network to protect forests and create green spaces that benefit residents and future generations,” said Mr. Supachai.
