Universal Utilities (UU), a subsidiary of the EAST WATER Group, has officially launched the prototype of the “U-Chill Station,” a smart drinking water and ice service station, at Hua Ro Subdistrict Municipality, Phitsanulok Province. This initiative represents a significant step forward in translating Thailand’s 20-Year National Water Strategy into practical, community-level action.
The U-Chill Station has been developed as a tangible model of a Decentralized Smart Water Grid, redefining how clean drinking water can be produced, distributed, and accessed at the local level. The station is equipped with a seven-step purification process, including Reverse Osmosis (RO), ensuring consistent hygiene and safety standards. It delivers a minimum drinking water production capacity of 1,200 liters per day, alongside a food-grade ice production capacity of no less than 140 kilograms per day.
To enhance user experience and operational efficiency, the station features a smart service interface with a modern touch screen, supporting electronic payments via QR code as well as coin-operated options. This inclusive design ensures accessibility for all segments of the community while aligning with the digital transformation of public utilities.
Looking ahead, Universal Utilities and the EAST WATER Group are committed to expanding this model to other regions across Thailand, under rigorous quality control, inspection, and maintenance standards. The long-term vision is clear: to ensure that access to safe, clean drinking water is not a privilege, but a reliable and sustainable service embedded within everyday community life.
