East Water created the model of learning center for wastewater treatment to announce the results of the model schools for wastewater treatment system in the canteen

East Water announced the results of the model schools for wastewater treatment system in the canteen along with coordinating the cooperation with 7 Primary Educational Service Area Offices (PEASO) in Rayong, Chachoengsao, and Chonburi to be used as the model of learning center for water management and simple wastewater treatment for the communities surrounding the schools.

Eastern Water Resources Development and Management Public Company Limited or East Water has carefully selected the model schools for wastewater treatment system for more than 4 months under the cooperation with 7 Primary Educational Service Area Offices (PEASO) in Rayong, Chachoengsao, and Chonburi to raise the awareness of the youth and the communities to realize the quality of water resource focusing on creating the model schools for simple wastewater treatment system in the canteen furthered to the communities and became the source in learning the conservation of water resource to target in creating 1 model school per one educational service area.  

The schools to be selected as the model schools for wastewater treatment in canteen must be assessed by the project committee with the use and maintenance of water treatment system regularly. The water quality is improved so that the treated water can be used such as for watering plants, feeding fish, making organic fertilizer, making bio-fermentation. The knowledge of the treatment system can be inserted in teaching. It can also be the source of learning about water conservation. The selected schools will form the model of simple water management learning center in the canteen for other schools and communities in the area.

The 4 model schools for wastewater treatment system in the “diamond level”; Wat Suwanrangsan Community School under Rayong Primary Educational Service Offices Area 1, Ban Nong Yai School under Chachoengsao Primary Educational Service Offices Area 2, Ban Nong Sai School under Rayong Primary Educational Service Offices Area 2, and Ban Talad Neon Hin School under Chonburi Primary Educational Service Offices Area 2, received the budget of 3,000 baht for developing the wastewater treatment system. The 2 schools in the “gold level”; Eastern Sugar Company Community School under Rayong Primary Educational Service Offices Area 1 and Ban Kongdara School under Chonburi Primary Educational Service Offices Area 3 received the budget of 20,000 baht for developing the wastewater treatment system. The 1 school in the “silver level” which is Ban Nong Wa School under Chachoengsao Primary Educational Service Offices Area 2 received the budget of 10,000 baht for developing the wastewater treatment system. The 3 schools in the “copper level”; Wat Chuk Cher School under Chachoengsao Primary Educational Service Offices Area 1, Ban Thab Rang School under Chonburi Primary Educational Service Offices Area 2, and Ban Mab Lambid under Chonburi Primary Educational Service Offices Area 1 received the budget of 5,000 baht for developing the wastewater treatment system.

Previously, East Water worked with the academic institutes, communities, and government sector in the areas of Rayong, Chonburi and Chachoengsao to initiate the project for raising the awareness on sustainable water resource conservation. Starting from 2008, the Company launched East Water Young Leader Project by providing scholarships to schools and youths participating in the program to develop water conservation in schools further.
