East Water congratulated the 24th anniversary as the expert in water management in cooperation with Royal Irrigation Department to arrange the activities to return the balance to the ecological system, grow the trees to increase the green area, and release the fish into Prasae Reservoir, Rayong Province. All sectors were gathered to return the abundance to water resources in the ecological activities of “Gathering the voluntary-minded people to conserve forest and water” with the focus on raising the awareness of conservation for the sustainability of natural resources.
Eastern Water Resources Development and Management PLC or East Water arranged the ecological activities of “Gathering the voluntary-minded people to conserve forest and water” in the occasion of 24th anniversary. The operation of East Water with Prasae water supply and maintenance project, Royal Irrigation Department, to gather all sectors; private sector, public sector, frequenters, and business allies of the Company as well as people in the area for more than 800 persons to cooperate in the nature conservation through the activities of planting tree and releasing the aquatic animals to Prasae Reservoir, Rayong Province.
Mr. Jirayut Rungsithong, CEO of East Water, said about the activity, “As East Water is the agency operating business on water resource, the Company realizes the importance of building the “water source forest” which is much destroyed now. Therefore, in the occasion of 24th anniversary, we would like to arrange the ecological activity on the National Date of River and Canal Conservation in order to help increasing the area of water source forests and return the abundance to the ecological system in Prasae Reservoir area which is the main water source of Rayong Province. This activity has received good respond.”
Mr. Phornchai Phonchua, Director of Prasae water supply and maintenance project said, “This activity is the cooperation in the restoration and conservation of natural resources with East Water officially for the first time. We consider it as the valuable activity representing the responsibilities to the environment and society entirely. The most important thing is to respond to the Royal thought of HM King Bhumibhol and HM Queen Sirikit in the conservation of natural resources and environment who always see the importance and operate this throughout the time.”
The activity of “gather the voluntary-minded persons to cooperate in forest and water conservation in the occasion of 24th anniversary of East Water” aims to plant 2,050 trees and release more than 77,000 aquatic animals in Prasae Reservoir area in the total area of more than 6 rai with the assistance from Prasae water supply and maintenance project, Royal Irrigation Department, to use such area to return the abundance to water resource and maintain the balance of ecological system. In this event, Mr. Jirayut Rungsithong, CEO of East Water, also gave the scholarship of 1 million baht to the Water Foundation for Education of Wang Chan District with Mr. Preechai Chumbunyeunyong was the representative for receiving.
“After the trees have been planted today, East Water plans to care and maintain such trees in cooperation with Prasae water supply and maintenance project. We will continue arranging such ecological activity consecutively every year in order to conserve the natural resources and environment of the East to maintain forever. This is one of the intentions and determinations of East Water in the environment conservation in order to elevate the conservation of water sources and environment in the Eastern region sustainably.” Mr. Jirayut ended.
